The School District is not liable in most cases for students who are injured while at school. It is the parents'/guardians' responsibility to make sure that their children are covered by medical insurance. It is School Board Policy that all high school football participants must either subscribe to the "Varsity Football" plan or that the school have on file a notarized statement that the parent/guardian relieves the School District of any liability.This is the reason that Student Accident Insurance is offered (at a very nominal fee). The current student accident insurance rates offered through First Service Insurance Company are as follows:

School Time Coverage provides coverage to students during school hours; while attending, participating in and traveling to and from school sponsored/supervised activities on or off the school premises during the school year. This includes school sponsored/supervised summer activities and necessary travel directly to and from the activity.Twenty-Four-Hour Coverage provides coverage for students 24 hours a day. This covers weekends and vacation periods, including the summer. Students are protected at home and school.
Varsity Football Coverage provides coverage to tenth-, eleventh-, and twelft- grade football players during football activities. THIS PLAN PERTAINS ONLY TO HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL. Middle School football is covered by purchasing the 24-Hour Coverage plan.
