Property Transfer and Disposal Policy

No property owned, leased, or otherwise used by the Muscogee County School District can be transferred from the building where it has been assigned or disposed of in any manner without written authorization from the Superintendent or his designee, except as indicated below.
  • An asset may be temporarily transferred from the building to which it is assigned for school or community service for a period of time agreed upon by the Superintendent or his designee.
  • On such temporary transfers, a written log will be compiled at each building indicating the full description, quantity, condition, date borrowed and returned, the reason for usage, signatures of borrower and approving authority.
  • In no case, however, will the unit supervisor be relieved of responsibility for the accountability of the asset or its condition.
  • Granting community service use of School District equipment does not authorize personal use.
