Health Insurance - MCSD provides a very generous health insurance program through the State Health Benefit Plan.  Employees pay approximately 25% of the cost, with MCSD picking up the other 75%.
Life Insurance - MCSD provides a policy equal to the employee's salary at no cost to the employee.
Long-term Disability Insurance - Coverage is provided to each employee at no cost to the employee.
Retirement - An excellent retirement plan is provided to all permanent employees.  MCSD contributes 9.24% of employees' salary into the Teacher Retirement fund.
Flexchoice- This program allows employees to eliminate taxes on money set aside for health care, child care and certain insurance premiums.
Workers' Compensation - Medical expenses are paid in the event of a work-related injury or illness.
Employee Assistance Program - An excellent program provided to the employees and their families to help with a variety of personal and family problems at no cost to the employee.
Personal Leave - Employees are provided three (3) paid personal leave days per year through the use of their accrued sick leave.
Sick Leave - Employees earn 1 1/4 days of sick leave per month that they work and can accumulate up to 120 days.
Sick Leave Bank - Employees may join the sick leave bank and receive up to 60 days of paid sick leave when other leave time has been exhausted by critical or catastrophic personal illness.
Dental Insurance - This optional program provides basic dental service and reduced fees for specialty care for a low monthly cost.

At the beginning of each year, Muscogee County School District sends out a "Statement of Earnings and Benefits" which gives each employee a personalized, yearly summary of all his/her benefits, contributions, and deductions.  This summary gives each employee a yearly accounting of his/her total compensation.
