READING RECOVERY TEACHER
Applications are now being accepted for the position of Reading Recovery Teacher.  Send letter of interest and current resume to the Personnel Department.  Applicants must meet requirements for participation in the Muscogee County School District Reading Recovery Program, and must meet eligibility requirements for admission to Georgia State University and to the Reading Recovery Program, such as successful classroom teacher experience, acceptable grade point average, and current and acceptable GRE or other test scores as required by Georgia State University.  [prof-qs/dj]

COORDINATOR OF COMMUNITY SERVICES/Marshall Middle School 
Duties and Qualifications:  Certificate Preferred.  Models correct use of oral and written language.  Represents Marshall Middle School at civic and community meetings under principal’s guidance.  Promotes and facilitates home-school communication and involvement.  Serves as a resource for parents wishing assistance in improving their student’s academic performance.  Coordinates community services rendering assistance to Marshall Middle School.  Supervises after-school and summer activities for Marshall students on site.  Consults with administration, teachers and other special staff on community matters impacting Marshall Middle School.  Serves as school resource person and liaison to community organizations, foundations and civic organizations working with Marshall Middle School.  Serves as member of Marshall Middle School Leadership Team.  Performs other pertinent duties as assigned by the principal. 



Classified Positions

GROUND DEPARTMENT EROSION CONTROL LEADERMAN/Plant Services-Grade 18
High School Diploma or GED and Technical school.  Must have valid drivers license.  Knowledge of soil type, chemicals, pesticides, fertilizer and water.  Vulernability of species to disease and pests.  Oversee ground maintenance grasses.  Road and parking lot repairs using asphalt and cement.

SCHOOL NURSE (LPN)
This is a 190-day position available in August 2003, working 7.5 hours per pay position at a rate of $13.00 per hour.  Will provide one on one nursing services for special needs student.  Applicants must hold a current Georgia license by the Georgia Board of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse with current certification in CPR and first aid.  This position is for an LPN to provide assistance to the school in managing the special healthcare needs which affect a student’s ability to be successful in school.  Applicants should have experience in public health, hospital or related medical facilities.  Pediatric nursing experience is desirable. AUDIO-VISUAL TECHNICIAN LEADER/Systems and Data Processing-Grade 18 
This is a 240-day position responsible for assisting in the operation and maintenance of the school district’s audio-visual and media equipment, including electronics and electro-mechanical equipment.  The candidate must possess the following:  leadership ability to manage day to day activities of the audio-visual repair shop including associated paperwork; utilize electronic testing equipment to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair small equipment such as VCR/TV and component level/circuit boards; working knowledge of TV/Satellite and TV distribution configurations and operations; and knowledge of computer interface equipment relating to TV distribution systems.  Graduated from an accredited technical school or equivalent.

CAFETERIA MANAGER/East Columbus Magnet Academy-Grade 19 
Requires the completion of a minimum of three years successful experience as manager and/or assistant manager or comparable experience, high school diploma or GED, and a successful completion of three of the Core TID courses or equivalent education.  The remaining Core Courses must be completed at the rate of one every year.  Must meet minimum training for school nutrition manager as required by Georgia State Standards.  Candidates should have good communication skills and work well with staff and students, be enthusiastic about the program and be willing to plan and carry out promotions to increase program participation, work with special dietary needs and provide nutrition education classes as requested.  The successful candidate will manage a food court which serves three different menus on three individual serving lines. FURNITURE SPRAY PAINTER/Plant Services-Grade 14
Requires three years of application experience.  Duties include mixing and matching of paint to match colors.  Applying paint to interiors and exteriors of buildings, furniture and equipment by means of spray guns and/or brushes.  Cleaning of brushes and spray guns and make minor repairs to equipment.  Mixing of colors and use of spray equipment and have a good knowledge of mixing, spraying and cleaning equipment.  Must have a valid vehicle operator’s license. ADMINISTRATIVE CLERK/Plant Services-Grade 16 
Requires 22wpm production typing.  Knowledge of Lotus 1-2-3, Microsoft Office 2002 with emphasis on Excel, Word and Assess.  High School Diploma or GED, Technical School, Business School or equivalent.  Maintain the energy Management System.  Update the utility files.  Maintain files as required by the Energy Manager.  Generate monthly reports from the On-Line Work Order System.  Know Plant Services budget in order to provide information to the Director in the absence of the Energy Manager.  Maintain Cash Receipts Journals.  Maintain files from the filter inspection reports.
