| Welcome
to Allen Elementary School
Allen Elementary
School has had a record of academic excellence since its beginning in 1967.
The dedicated staff is constantly seeking to prepare students to accept
responsibility for their own learning and behavior. The administration
and staff encourages parents to actively partner with the school to prepare
students to succeed in academics and citizenship. Recognizing student
efforts in academics and citizenship will continue to be a priority throughout
the school year.
One of my
goals has been to improve student access to technology. A computer
lab has been set up and the building is networked. The Internet and
reading and math software is available in the lab, classrooms, and the
media center. The Accelerated Reader program will be expanded and
additional software purchased.
Reading will
continue to be a focus. Allen received a grant that will further
enrich our library of leveled books available to all grade levels.
The quality of student writing, while already above system and State expectations,
will be another instructional area that will be emphasized.
Exposing
students to a variety of opportunities for field trips, community speakers
and fine arts performances will continue to be accomplished with the assistance
of the PTA.
Parents and
members of the community are encouraged to visit the school. Volunteers
to read or tutor children are welcome to contact us at any time.
Sincerely,
Barbara Motos
